How I Met Your Mother Same But Better Than Coupling

If you follow this blog, you’ll know how much Jen and I enjoyed the BBC’s Coupling. We never caught the US version, but heard it was awful. Unlike the US Office – it didn’t last long enough to grow into it’s own.

Lately we’ve been really enjoying How I Met Your Mother. Yes, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan make the show. Turn Coupling down a notch, drop the English accent and you’ve got it.

Oh sure, the Bob Saget intros don’t hurt.

  1. We’ve been watching HIMYM since the beginning. I’ve always liked Alyson Hannigan and NPH’s performance in Harold and Kumar Go to WhiteCastle had me wanting to see him in something else, and this provided an opportunity.

The writing is definitely better on this sitcom than on many others.

  2. I do not see the credit for “Coupling”. Are we making an assumption or am I just missing the credits or base on stuff?

  3. I love the show. I’ve created a blog and podcast for the show and invite you to check it out at howimetyourblog.com

You’ll find many people there to share in the convo.
