  1. Ha! I remember when you were developing that! What were O’Keefe’s thoughts on it? Do you remember? Wow, what a trip down memory lane. It really has aged well, to tell you the truth.

  2. Actually, it has aged well except for the use of Eurostile. Using Eurostile for “tech” applications ranks right up there with using Industria. Blechh…

Back then it was fresh, though.

    Couldn’t resist the critique πŸ™‚

  3. Or at least re-fresh. πŸ™‚ – I remember graphic designers that lived through Eurostile’s initial popularity also felt it was a Blechhhy choice.

At the time, I felt Eurostiles clean lines were a nice contrast to the type-deconstructionism (a la David Carson) so trendy in the music world.

  4. Since it was you, Garrick, I knew that any font choice you made was a thoughtful one. What’s unfortunate is that others have mis-used Eurostile so much that even though your decision to use it was a sound one, seeing it in any recent application elicits somewhat of a gag reflex πŸ˜‰

Eurostile is not alone. There are so many perfectly nice fonts that have that “taboo” factor because of mis-use and mistreatment.

Ahh, the world of traditional graphic design, where total dorks can talk for hours about the most mundane things…
