This is the second winter we’ve spent in the house and the second winter somebody covered a city firetruck in lights, turned the carols up to 11, strapped a sleigh on the back, threw Santa in it, and drove around the village spreading holiday cheer.
Like the summer’s helicopter ping-pong drop – it makes both Jen and I smile for living here.
This is the kind of thing they do in my hometown, Eagle Rock (in California). Every year they have Santa arrive at the Christmas Tree-lighting ceremony at City Hall. (Town Hall, really, since it’s awful small for a city).
I failed to mention that Santa arrives in a Firetruck. It’s funny; I was thinking of this the other day, when a firetruck arrived at the parking lot of the store I was preparing to do my Christmas shopping at.
